Fierce foodies are in for a treat as an exclusive new cooking experience arrives in Glasgow, headed up by rock ‘n’ roll chef, John Quigley of the Red Onion. The celeb approved chef will be giving keen cooks the full culinary experience, from the fish market to the final garnish, at an exclusive event held this April at the Tennent’s Training Academy Cook School in Wellpark Brewery.

The one-off masterclasses will see wannabe chefs join John Quigley to try their hand at fish dishes with a twist. Kicking off at the local market, guests will hand pick their produce before taking part in a Tennent’s Tour and beer tasting session. With John’s expert assistance, guests will then pair their fish with their pint of choice to create a battered fish uniquely suited to their palette.

Dining with chef to the stars, guests will taste cuisine enjoyed by celebs including Bryan Adams, Tina Turner and rock band, Guns and Roses. Sitting round the table, John’s sous-chefs can pick up tips and tricks for their favourite dishes while hearing stories of his time on the tour bus.

Chef John Quigley said:

“Cooking and great beer are two great passions of mine, so seeing these come together in this masterclass is fantastic. I enjoy creating dishes that people know and love so beer battered fish felt like the right dish for our Glasgow audience.

“We’ve created an event that will give guests the full foodie experience, starting at the fish market and finishing up at the dinner table. Getting the opportunity to sample beer for the recipe will be a really fun element of the day.”

Ross Pollock, manager of the Tennent’s Visitor Centre said:

We’re thrilled to have one of UK’s leading chefs host a cooking experience at the Tennent’s Training Academy and Visitor Centre. The masterclass will give food enthusiasts an opportunity to try their hand at cooking with one of the industry’s finest while taste-testing the country’s favourite lager. “

With state of the art cooking facilities, our cook school is the perfect destination for an event like this and we’ll be introducing more in the future.
